Missing PR Blog. If Found, Please Return to the Internets ASAP.

Combine my ‘less is more’ approach to blogging with my recent flurry of trips and travel, my blog as been a lot more less than more these days. Oops.

As a friend gently nudged me the other day, that ain’t so good.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Possibly that biggest reason you shouldn’t let your blog go cold – people forget about you. In this topsy turvy blitzkrieg of real time contentfotainment, people have plenty of other options. If you stop writing, they’ll stop reading, they’ll stop sharing; it’s a risk we can’t afford to take.

If you don’t build it, they definitely won’t come.

someecards.com - Now that I'm at work, what should I blog about? So it’s time to get blogging again, remind folks that yes, I’m still here. I’m strategizing and plotting, working hard on my blog, my business, my career. I’m reading other blogs to learn and grow; most importantly, still sharing.

The goal has always been to write and share what readers will find helpful, valuable, actionable.

Object lessons, tips, observations on PR, social media, branding, content marketing, customer service, employee relations, etc. – it’s about showing readers how smart, effective communications are essential to building and sustaining a successful business.

If you disappear, so will your audience. Today’s Tip: Get back out there.

I’ve got a handful of posts drafted. Some I’ve been just been holding until I was back in town, others because I was never sure if I was ever gonna break out the ‘publish’ button.

Time to dust off a few and see if what I typed all of three long months ago still resonates today.

I return you to your regularly scheduled blog, already in progress.

P. S. It’s almost Thanksgiving people. Where the hell did 2012 go?!

  1. Oh it’s easy to get out of the blogging groove sometimes, isn’t it? I do this often, am trying to get back in the saddle now.

The one thing I try to keep telling myself is ‘like it or not, your blog is a marketing tool for your business, and you can’t afford to stop marketing yourself’.

I’ll keep it up if you will 😉

    1. It’s absotively one of my biggest weapons for promoting my business, reaching potential clients – or at least it’s supposed to be Mack.

I’m seeing the blog as a living, evolving thing. It will grow, expand, contract, change over time – just as I do. Like myself I have to take care of it, feed it w/ healthy goodies, work out the kinks, deal w/ down cycles and make the time, make it a priority. Thanks, and have a great holiday.

  2. Hi Davina,

This is gold: “… topsy turvy blitzkrieg of real time contentfotainment,” 🙂

The most I’ve ever been away has been for approx two weeks and that felt weird, like I gotta get back to my baby.

Glad you have some in the queue and are ready to rip!

Yeah, where the hell DID 2012 go? 😉

    1. I’ve missed it, been lurking here and there.. but no time to comment, post, anything else. Still undecided on some drafts (nee, rants) but I’m getting it going – just in time for 2013!

    1. Didn’t even realize I’d slipped past the 2 week mark.. have to learn that ‘short and sweet’ post trick, find a way to do at least one post a week. Nice to be missed, thank you ma’am. 🙂
